Her first love, Gabe, asks Stefanie to enter into a contract marriage with him. His goal is to support his father’s reelection as a married man and then to set in motion his secret plot against his father’s wish to make him his political successor. Stefanie accepts his proposition, thinking they’ll inevitably grow closer once they’re married.
