A new boy at the high school, Travis, goes straight for the boy that he is warned he doesn't want to be friends with. He becomes friends with Chris, and there is an attraction to each other. Each have complications in their past. Travis is impotent and Chris lives at a group home because his parents are dead. The two 17 year old's (almost 18) will fall in love, but Chris will be attacked by three thugs right when he thought everything was going okay. Travis will get justice for the one he loves and soon after they are both 18 they will get married. While not adult in nature there is an open discussion about the one being impotent and teen type jokes about at least he won't get a "boner in class". They learn to accept each other and then fall in love.
