Max Freedom Long was fascinated with the shamans of Hawaii, the Kahuna. Long spent many years in Hawaii, and besides several books on Huna. He also wrote several mystery novels in that setting. This book, one of the first he wrote on the subject of Huna. Huna is a Hawaiian word adopted by the author to describe his theory of metaphysics which he linked to ancient Hawaiian kahunas (Keepers of the Secret).
